NEW CHAPTER BEGINS SEPTEMBER 1

We’re excited to welcome youth back to The WAY as we launch our NEW CHAPTER this fall. Our programming officially resumes Tuesday, September 1, and we can’t wait to open our doors again.

New Mixed-Age Format: Ages 10 to 17

Everyone welcome: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3pm to 7pm

Starting this year, The WAY will operate with a mixed group format for all program days. This means:

  • Youth from Grade 5 and up can attend

  • No more separate “younger youth” and “teen” days

  • Everyone is welcome together, creating a more inclusive and dynamic community space

A Fresh Start for Our Community

This NEW CHAPTER reflects our commitment to offering a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for Wakefield youth. We look forward to reconnecting, welcoming new faces, and building a vibrant year together.

We believe youth should be given opportunities to develop leadership capacity.

Our Values

Youth Leadership

We will be inclusive, non-judgmental, and give all of our youth a safe, welcoming environment and a role in decision-making. Everyone has a voice in the WAY.

Equal Opportunity

We will provide youth with the opportunity to try, fail, succeed, learn and grow by providing unfailing encouragement, guidance, mentoring and support. If you believe, you can achieve.

Learning

We will stay current, interesting, engaging, challenging, and cutting edge in our programs and activities by saying yes to ideas and dreams, and working hard to make them work.

Innovation

We will work in partnership and collaboration with our community, other local organizations, sponsors, and individuals to help build a healthy community. Through that engagement, our participants will learn the value of giving back to their community.

Engagement

“When a young person finds a space where they can truly be themselves, they move forward naturally, with a strenght that even surprises those who accompany them.”
